The Gospel

The Gospel

The gospel of Jesus Christ changes everything.

We are a mess, and so are you. We can all clean up and put a face on for an hour on Sunday mornings, but in reality, it is just a façade. The thing is, Jesus sees past the façade and sees us for who we really are—broken, messed up, helpless, and sinful—and still loves us! It was in that love that God sent Jesus to live the sinless, perfect life we couldn't, die the death we deserved, rise again, and make everything new.

There is nothing that we can do to be "right" with God. Faith in Jesus alone is the only way. When we come to see and understand the mercy of God shown to us in Christ, it cannot help but transform everything—every decision, every day, and every person who comes into contact with it.

Many times, we believe God died for those times we break His law, but we wake up daily with the mindset that we can keep the law with our behavior. Jesus dealt with our law keeping as well as our law breaking. God requires that we be holy, and the holiness He requires, Jesus earned on our behalf. In that sense the gospel does have two halves : believing Jesus died for me AND believing Jesus lives for me. This is the gospel, and it changes everything.

If you would like to read further about the gospel, this a great article by Tim Keller.

Mission & Vision

Mission and Vision

Helping one another follow Jesus. For each other. For the community. For the world.

Our hearts are longing and seeking for joy, love, and hope in anything that this world may give us, only to find that it leaves us empty. Jesus is the only thing that can fulfill the deepest desires of our hearts. When we receive the deep love that God has shown for us by giving us His Son, it changes everything. Even though our walk with God is personal, it is not intended to be private. As we follow Jesus, we need people to encourage, challenge, and walk through life with us.

What We Believe

What We Believe

Helping one another follow Jesus. For each other. For the community. For the world.

We believe the Bible is God's Word, true and without error. It holds all the answers to life and godliness. We submit ourselves to the authority of God's Word.

We believe Jesus lived the perfect life that was required of us, died the death we deserve, rose again, and is making everything new.

We are grounded in the past and have accountability for the present. We are rooted in these creeds and confessions of the historic Christian faith: The Apostles' Creed, The Nicene Creed, and The Westminster Confession of Faith. We believe it is right for us to be in community with other churches and to be held accountable. As a step towards that community and unity, we are part of a local community and national one: Calvary Presbytery and the Presbyterian Church in America.
